About The Role

HUB International is seeking an experienced and client-focused Vice President, Trade Credit to support the continued growth and servicing of its Trade Credit practice in Ontario. This role will serve as a senior technical and business development resource, partnering closely with producers, account teams, insurers, and clients to deliver customized trade credit and political risk solutions.

The VP, Trade Credit will provide subject matter expertise across trade credit insurance products, support complex client placements, maintain strong insurer relationships, and contribute to new business development initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong market knowledge, consultative relationship management skills, and the ability to navigate complex financial and commercial risk exposures.

This position is ideal for an established trade credit professional who enjoys balancing client advisory responsibilities, technical expertise, and collaborative business development within a growing specialty practice.

What You'll Do

  • Support the placement and service of domestic and export trade credit insurance programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with producers and commercial teams to identify and support new business opportunities.
  • Advise clients on trade credit risk mitigation strategies, policy structures, and market conditions.
  • Assist with policy negotiations, renewals, and coverage analysis.
  • Support complex client presentations, stewardship meetings, and renewal discussions.
  • Provide technical expertise related to political risk, structured credit, and receivables protection solutions.
  • Monitor insurer appetite, underwriting trends, and changes within the trade credit marketplace.
  • Collaborate with account management teams to ensure high-quality client service and retention.
  • Maintain compliance with provincial licensing requirements, HUB procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • 10+ years of experience in trade credit insurance in a broking or underwriting capacity
  • Strong understanding of trade credit insurance products, underwriting principles, and policy structures.
  • Existing relationships within the Canadian trade credit insurance market.
  • Experience supporting middle-market and large commercial clients.
  • Proven relationship management and business development capabilities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Valid RIBO license or ability to obtain in short order
  • CIP, CRM, FCIP, or related professional designation.
  • Familiarity with receivables financing and supply chain risk solutions.

The expected salary range for this position is$120,000 to $160,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience andworking location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
