What We're Looking For

We're seeking a seasoned risk management expert as a leader in our Complex Risk team. This role requires a strong background in complex risk management, risk financing, and collaboration with specialized brokers. If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for risk management, we'd love to hear from you.

As a VP in this role, you'll leverage your experience and expertise to support the building of our Complex Risk Practice and helping clients navigate significant risks, optimize capital, and secure efficient risk financing. There will be a focus on collaboration with specialized and experienced brokers to secure appropriate risk management strategies across a spectrum of entities and insurance structures. Some examples include but are not limited to:

  • Large scale operations (e.g. multinational corporations)
  • High liability exposure (e.g. heavy industry, renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Unusual or emerging risks (e.g. cyber threats, political risk, climate change, etc.)
  • Layered or multi-party insurance needs
  • Catastrophic event coverage (e.g. natural disasters, terrorism, etc.)

Requirements

  • 10+ years of proven experience managing complex accounts and developing tailored risk solutions for business and individuals facing unique exposures.
  • Comfortable working with complex data analytics, utilizing technology, and adapting to flexible processes.
  • Level 2 General Insurance License is required.
  • Industry certification required (CAIB, CIP, CRM, BCIT Risk Management, etc.) and/or legal, finance or engineering-related qualifications.

A Day in the Life

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop tailored risk management strategies for complex clients, including large-scale operations, high-liability exposures, and emerging risks.
  • Manage the effective transition of existing accounts, serving as the primary client relationship lead for assigned accounts.
    • Deliver the highest standard of client service.
    • Adapt to the unique needs of each client.
    • Stay current on available coverage options.
    • Anticipate and proactively address client needs.
    • Conduct thorough risk identification and analysis.
  • Act as a thought leader by identifying, generating, and pursuing new business opportunities.
    • Participate in industry and company events to build both the Complex Risk brand and your professional network.
    • Conduct market research to identify and assess prospects.
    • Remain current on industry and business issues pertaining to clients and prospects.
    • Oversee the business development process for both new and renewal business.
  • Serve as a mentor to colleagues, supporting professional growth and knowledge-sharing.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to continuously enhance skills and expertise.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 to $195,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
