Job Description
Alhambra is seeking motivated, highly qualified interns to work with our Austin-based 501(c)(6) Chamber of Commerce involved with promoting international education, business and marketing focused on interaction between the United States and OIC nations.
Alhambra promotes academic and commercial partnerships across the globe with the ultimate goal of fostering closer relations between the U.S. and other nations. Alhambra serves as a catalyst and force-multiplier for its clients and members, leveraging the collective experience, skills and contacts of its world-class leadership team and advisors to develop and strengthen global partnerships.
Internships are available in the spring, summer and fall semesters.
Description:
Interns provide the following support to Alhambra staff members:
  • International education and business research
  • Arranging for domestic and international travel
  • General administrative support (as needed)
  • Contacting universities for partnership opportunities
  • Public relations and social media
  • Conference and event planning

We are also in need of interns who can help with:
  • Conversation with international students
  • Coordinating events around the institute
  • Assisting the sales coordinator in organizing the office/prepping the institute for events and exams
  • We are in need of a social media intern ASAP (Fall 2017 semester)

Qualifications
Successful Alhambra intern candidates are typically:
  • Articulate, able to express themselves and with a pleasing phone manner
  • Familiar with MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Dependable, self-reliant and self-starters

Special consideration will be given to applicants with one or more of the following skills/ aptitudes:
  • Proficiency in Arabic, proficiency in another language
  • Previous political, economic, or business research experience
  • HTML, web design, and web editing experience
  • Web optimization experience
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good work ethic
  • Availability to work in the evenings
