We are recruiting for a Policy Services Manager to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. This role will be hybrid, working 3 days a week in the office and 2 from home.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the development and management of the Field Marketing and Underwriting Support and Service (FMUSS) team, ensuring quality standards are consistently met and effectively allocating and prioritizing workloads. Collaborating with other departments, to build strong partnerships to enhance cross-functional initiatives and drive outcomes within the FMUSS team. Focus on continuous improvement to drive the implementation of innovative strategies and best practices, optimizing processes and achieving exceptional program outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Design, implement, and oversee Associate Underwriting development program that aligns with organizational goals, ensuring they meet quality standards and objectives.
  • Evaluate team capabilities and project requirements to allocate resources and set priorities effectively, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards while fostering team development and productivity.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment with business objectives by linking individual and organizational performance expectations to strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives, optimize resource sharing, and strengthen communication channels, driving cohesive initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance program efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Partner with offshore leadership to build and sustain a skilled workforce, defining training, certification, and knowledge-transfer models that strengthen capability and reduce reliance on onshore resources, and also ensure that all FMUSS committed to service levels are met using both FTE "on-shore" resources and all available resources with our overseas vendor partner.
  • Establish and manage performance metrics, conducting regular data analysis to generate actionable insights and provide recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate training and development opportunities for team members through coaching and mentoring, focusing on skill enhancement and career growth to prepare them for future opportunities within the organization.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree or equivalent work-related experience.
  • 5 years commercial lines underwriting experience with thorough underwriting workflow and tasks.
  • 3 years leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and changing environment.
  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
