Description

  • SUMMARY: This position is responsible for propane delivery, liquid fuel delivery, bulk oil delivery, and propane service work. The technician plays a key role in ensuring safe, timely service while providing excellent customer care. Duties may extend seasonally into agronomy or grain support.

Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install propane storage tanks, regulators, meters, and gas piping systems (underground and above-ground).
  • Provide or assist with propane service work, including tank inspections, troubleshooting equipment, and system checks.
  • Conduct safety gas checks, out of gas inspections, leak tests, and pressure tests.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in propane and liquid fuel systems.
  • Follow all procedures for transporting and handling hazardous and non-hazardous products.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance (greasing, minor repairs, cleaning, washing trucks).
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete driver's logs.
  • Keep vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring courteous interactions and maintaining product knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
  • Adhere to all company and government safety policies, including fire/explosion precautions, Right-to-Know laws, lockout/tagout, and transportation regulations.
  • Accurately complete delivery tickets, service paperwork, maintenance logs, and compliance forms.
  • Be available for night and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled.
  • Willing to attend training as company sees fit.
  • Ensure that the Energy facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Adhere to all company and government safety policies and laws (i.e., viewing safety films, understanding right to know laws, fire, and explosion precautions, lock out - tag out, etc.)
  • Accurately record and keep records of equipment and facility maintenance. 


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operate propane, fuel, and bulk oil trucks when delivering product to customers.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of employees to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Prepared to assist at other locations outside normal service area as designated.
  • Work with location Office Manager to ensure accurate accounting of expenses.
  • Ability to think critically to solve problems.
  • Required to have a strong work ethic, dedication, and take pride in one's work.
  • Agriculture background preferred but not required.
  • Adhere to all company procedures as designated for above tasks.
  • Assist Agronomy with deliveries (seed, nutrients, anhydrous), tender-truck operation, soil sampling, or other duties.
  • Assist Grain with dumping trucks, loading outbound trains/trucks, bin cleaning, and general facility maintenance.
  • Help manage Inventory.
  • All other duties assigned.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to work long varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Must obtain or currently hold a Class A CDL with medical card and Hazmat endorsement
