Job description

About Saylor

Saylor is an LA-based creative agency for entertainment brands and brands who seek to entertain. We are an office filled with passionate people who love to work together to develop authentic, sharable content that inspires fans across the internet. We represent a wide range of clients including Netflix, Hilton, Disney, Tubi, Paramount+, and more.

We're a close-knit team of creatives who value collaboration, quality of work, innovation, and most importantly: being social. In the office, we aim to create a supportive environment where individuals are encouraged to work together to problem-solve for our clients.

Position Overview

Saylor seeks an innovative, sharp Jr Copywriter with experience in social media ideation, post crafting, social copywriting, content strategy, and creative development to join the Social team. The ideal candidate will be incredibly detail-oriented, a strong project manager, and intensely organized. They are also exceedingly creative, collaborative, strategic, and obsessed with social media and pop culture marketing trends, especially in the travel and hospitality space. This role will lead ideation for daily retainer content. This person will be responsible for mastering the brands they work on, mastering the tone of voice, the guardrails, and co-work seamlessly with senior copywriters as well as design and A/V teams, building weekly pitches for new content concepts.

The Jr Copywriter will bring a confident, strong and studied creative perspective from a language-first point of view to all the work they do. They are proactive leaders who jump in and figure it out—not wait to be told what move to make next. They will collaborate across all teams at Saylor — partnering with Strategy, Accounts, Creative Production, and Creative Design/AV) to elevate individual assets and entire campaigns. Throughout, you'll ensure all creative aligns with strategy and brand voice through copy, design, and execution.

About You

You take pride in your work, following directions, meeting deadlines, staying organized, and exceeding expectations. A seemingly bottomless pit of fresh social ideas, you have a deep well of references and experiences to pull from and you always have your thumb on the pulse of what's clicking with audiences on social media. You're a natural wordsmith who can adapt to various tones and brand voices, finding unique ways for copy to stand out and take up meaningful space. You're not afraid to share your ideas in a room — whether it's with internal teams or clients — and you enthusiastically build up and nurture your teammate's ideas. Flexibility and a positive attitude come naturally to you, and you create open and symbiotic environments conducive to generating ideas without ego or shallow judgement. Curiosity, kindness, empathy, and playfulness are core tenets that you value and freely dispense.

You feel confident and comfortable with the intricacies of entertainment marketing, with experience supporting or guiding high-profile creative projects from ideation to execution. You love a pitch deck and working with Creative, Strategy, and Accounts to create a cohesive, unique campaign strategy. You feel secure talking with clients about their vision and needs, offering creative solutions that make them want to come back for more best-in-class campaigns.

You may have been any of the following in your career: a social media manager with strong audience knowledge, a well-rounded copywriter who always had kick-ass ideas, a community manager who found fresh ways to connect to fandoms,  a lingo-obsessed creative producer who was always one step ahead with big ideas or some combination of it all!

Location and Salary

This is a part-time contract role from $50 - $70 hourly depending on experience. We currently have a hybrid in-office and work-from-home policy in place, with two in-person days to work from Saylor's office in Echo Park, Los Angeles.
