Senior Business Applications Analyst

The Senior Business Applications Analyst interacts with business partners and IT staff to gather and document requirements and software testing needs. This role independently analyzes medium to high complexity business issues, recommends solutions, and leads project activities including scope management, meeting facilitation, and progress communication. The analyst ensures alignment between business processes and software deliverables while mentoring junior team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Oracle Transportation Management

  • Configure Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Manhattan, JDA, or Red Prairie.
  • Participate in all phases of application implementation and production support for business-critical systems.
  • Gather requirements and design accurate, efficient solutions.
  • Analyze and reengineer repetitive failed processes to reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure shared understanding of solutions and minimize rework.
  • Maintain knowledge of interface specifications and configuration options.
  • Document requirements and solutions according to the business SDLC process.
  • Support transition of new customer and development projects into operational activities.
  • Develop and execute test scripts based on documented requirements.
  • Maintain and update business models reflecting current processes and rules.
  • Provide input to scoping and impact analysis for future deliverables.
  • Create presentations and scorecards; generate reports using advanced Excel skills.
  • Follow change control methodology in daily activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Stay current on warehouse execution technologies and trends.
  • Support 24/7/365 operations through on-call rotation as needed.
  • Travel for projects as required.
  • Follow corporate vision, mission, values, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in business applications analysis.
  • Experience with WMS systems such as Manhattan, JDA, or Red Prairie preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Transportation Management preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL for application development.
  • Ability to logically solve problems and maintain service level agreements.
  • Effective communication skills across distributed teams and stakeholders.
  • High verbal and written proficiency with a professional attitude.
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux servers and Oracle relational databases is a plus.
