Job description

Lead Automation Test Engineer
Please note, this role cannot offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
Location: Remote in USA
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer to design, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes across our products and systems in IVR integrated to Policy admin and payment system. The ideal candidate has a strong background in both manual and automated testing in IVR especially in insurance domain.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for IVR, Policy admin system built on EIS
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams to define quality standards and acceptance criteria
  • Perform root cause analysis for production issues and recommend corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Conduct functional, regression, performance, and integration testing
  • Participate in design and code reviews to identify potential quality risks early
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reports for stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality engineering in Insurance domain
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or similar)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Java, or JavaScript)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, qTest)
  • Solid understanding of API testing (Postman, REST Assured) and database validation (SQL)
  • Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Domain knowledge with P&C insurance background with CSAA experience
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until 08/14/2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 90,000- $ 110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
