Pay Rate: $14.50 per hour
Schedule: Weekdays only (Monday–Friday)

Available Shifts:
7:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
8:45 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Position Overview
The YMCA is seeking fun, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to serve as Day Camp Counselors. Counselors play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and positive camp experience for all participants. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers, and demonstrate patience, good judgment, and creativity.
Camp Programs:
Campers are grouped into:
  • Youth Camp: Kindergarten – Grade 6
  • Teen Camp: Grades 6 – 9
Daily activities may include:
Sports and games
Theme weeks
Arts and crafts
Values education
Swimming
Hiking
Songs and group activities
Experience with children, games, music, swimming, gymnastics, or arts and crafts is a plus - but not required.
Teen Camp Counselor Requirements:
Counselors working with Teen Camp must:
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Pass a driver background check to operate YMCA vehicles
Commitment amp; Training:
Required commitment: Full 11 weeks (June 1 – August 14, weekdays only)
Training week: June 1–5, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Interview Process:
Interviews may be conducted in person or virtually and last approximately 30–40 minutes. Candidates will participate in discussions and respond to sample day camp scenarios.

  • High school graduates (college students encouraged to apply)
