JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to inspect and report on the condition of stormwater infrastructure throughout the County, to review and correct inaccuracies of existing mapped stormwater infrastructure, and to coordinate contracted crews performing inspections.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Drives to different locations; performs inspections and reports conditions of stormwater pipes, stormwater infrastructure, stormwater catch basins, ditches, and outfalls based upon inspection results.
• Verifies accuracy of existing mapped infrastructure; makes corrections and updates data as needed.
• Assists with customer service; responds to service requests; and assists with responding to and resolving stormwater complaints.
• Maintains and uses pole cameras for daily inspections. Uses CCTV rover unit as needed.
• Reports discrepancies to the storm system inventory to leadership.
• Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; accurately completes and submits inspection forms, reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of Department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
• May work on-call as scheduled.
• Performs other assigned duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

• High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience in water, sewer, or stormwater construction, maintenance, or inspection; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must obtain a Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) certification within 12 months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, then he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
• Tasks typically involve some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing; tasks may also involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, noise extremes, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, disease, pathogenic substances, or rude/irate customers.
• Work is performed in an environment with heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to co-workers or others.
