Job description

The Poker Host promotes excellent guest relations and ensures high levels of customer service to provide a fun and inviting atmosphere.

  • Enhance the guest experience through friendly and attentive service, i.e. greeting guests, interacting with guests in a courteous and friendly manner, and being approachable.
  • Provide guest services duties, i.e. calling service to the tables to ensure food and beverage needs are met, change TV channels upon guest requests, etc.
  • Organize seating of players, maintain the waiting list and run chips for players.
  • Oversee the operation of assigned tables and dealer rotations.
  • Verify initial day's chip inventory; ensure timely fills/credits.
  • Close out the Poker Bank and reconciling paperwork.
  • Monitor patrons' playtime and assist in resolving guest disputes.
  • Assist in keeping the Poker Room and work areas neat and orderly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and gaming regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard casino assets and confidential information.
  • Report suspicious activities to Surveillance and the Poker Room Manager.
  • Runs tournaments as needed.
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years in poker room operations.
  • Familiarity with poker room concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and continuously seek improvement.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must apply and obtain the appropriate state occupational gaming license, which includes a lifetime FBI criminal background check.
  • Must pass drug testing as per the company's Drug Free Workplace Policy and applicable background checks.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing, walking, and use of hands.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds.
