Job description

Overview
Become a part of our vibrant and established podiatry clinic, where you will be instrumental in diagnosing, treating, and managing various foot and ankle ailments. This engaging role provides the chance to offer comprehensive podiatric care, leveraging advanced medical imaging, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and cutting-edge treatment methodologies. As an essential member of our team, you will enhance patients' mobility and overall quality of life through expert evaluations and tailored treatment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating foot and ankle conditions.

  • Employ medical imaging technologies, such as X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • Create and execute personalized treatment plans that may involve surgical interventions, wound care, orthotics, and medication management.

  • Carry out minor surgical procedures in the office, including nail removals and other podiatric treatments.

  • Inform patients about foot health, preventive care measures, and rehabilitation post-treatment to encourage long-term wellness.

  • Efficiently manage patient records using EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including orthopedists, radiologists, physical therapists, and primary care providers, to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution.

  • Current state licensure or certification to practice podiatry in Kansas.

  • Demonstrated experience with medical imaging techniques pertinent to podiatry, including X-ray interpretation.

  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, such as Practice Fusion or similar platforms, for documentation and patient management.

  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions affecting the foot and ankle.

  • Capability to perform minor surgical procedures, including nail removals and tenotomies.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with healthcare teams.

Preferred qualifications include experience in outpatient surgical environments and proficiency in health coaching or patient education techniques. Candidates with additional expertise in specialized fields such as diabetic foot care, sports medicine related to orthopedics, or wound management will be highly regarded.
