The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is the research division of the company. ATG's mission is to look ahead, deliver insights, and innovate technological solutions that will fuel Dolby's continued growth. What You Will Accomplish
As a senior research leader in the Multimodal Experiences Lab, you will shape the future of
Dolby's multimodal immersive technologies by focusing on three core areas:
Cutting-Edge Research
You will:
โ€ข Lead hands-on research at the intersection of multimodal AI and immersive sensory
experiences.
โ€ข Invent and advance next-generation interactive and sensory technologies.
โ€ข Drive projects that enhance multimodal content creation, delivery, analysis, and
rendering systems.
โ€ข Collaborate with global research teams to set research directions and fuel Dolby's
licensing and cloud businesses.
Mentorship & Team Development
You will:
โ€ข Guide, grow, and mentor a high-performing team of researchers in multimodal
understanding, delivery, and rendering.
โ€ข Foster an innovative, transparent, and results-oriented research culture.
โ€ข Develop and nurture junior researchers into independent contributors and future
leaders.
Technology Strategy & Collaboration
You will:
โ€ข Define research roadmaps in partnership with ATG leaders and align resources to

โ€ข Partner closely with Dolby's Business Groups to translate research breakthroughs into
real-world products.

What You Bring (Required)
โ€ข Proven research experience in multimodal AI, generative AI, computer vision, and
audiovisual analysis
โ€ข Strong record of innovation, including patents and publications with first authorship
in top conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.)
โ€ข Proven experience deploying AI systems at scale in production environments
โ€ข Demonstrated C/C++/Python programming and problem-solving skills
โ€ข Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire research teams.
โ€ข Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track
record of translating research into globally impactful products.
โ€ข 8+ years of relevant research and industry experience. Candidates without a PhD are
expected to demonstrate additional depth and impact commensurate with the role

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
