What is a product owner?

Product Owners (PO) are key members of Agile development teams responsible for defining product requirements and prioritizing work to ensure the end product delivers maximum value to users. They act as a bridge between stakeholders and the development team, translating business needs into actionable tasks. Product Owners maintain and manage the product backlog, clarify requirements, and make critical decisions about product features and releases. Their goal is to maximize the value of the product and ensure alignment with the business strategy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a police officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Police Officer, you need a strong understanding of law enforcement procedures, criminal justice, and physical fitness, typically supported by police academy training and a high school diploma or higher. Familiarity with law enforcement databases, radio communication systems, and body-worn camera technology is essential. Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional resilience, and sound judgment are crucial for de-escalating situations and building community trust. These skills and qualities are vital for ensuring public safety, effective law enforcement, and positive community relations.

What are some common challenges faced by product owners when balancing stakeholder expectations and development team capacity?

Product Owners often navigate the challenge of balancing diverse stakeholder demands with the realistic capacity of the development team. This involves prioritizing features based on business value, negotiating trade-offs, and clearly communicating the reasoning behind decisions. Maintaining transparency and setting clear expectations with both stakeholders and the team helps foster trust and ensures alignment on project goals. Effectively managing the product backlog and regularly refining priorities are key practices to address these challenges.

What is the difference between Po vs Product Manager?

CertificationsAgile certifications (e.g., CSPO), Scrum certificationsProduct management certifications (e.g., Pragmatic, AIPMM)
Work EnvironmentAgile teams, Scrum ceremonies, close collaboration with developersCross-functional teams, market analysis, strategic planning

While both Po (Product Owner) and Product Manager focus on product success, the Po primarily manages the development backlog and works closely with Agile teams, whereas the Product Manager handles overall product strategy, market positioning, and stakeholder communication. Understanding these roles helps organizations assign responsibilities effectively and align team efforts.

Position Summary
The Purchasing Lead maintains the steady flow of raw materials for production by managing PO issuance, inventory replenishment, and vendor performance tracking. This role executes purchasing operationally within corporate-negotiated contracts, flags discrepancies and cost errors, and keeps Receiving, Finance, and the EHS/Continuous Improvement lead informed - but does not own cost-variance analysis or strategic sourcing, which sit with Continuous Improvement and Corporate Procurement respectively.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Purchasing & PO Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communication on supply levels, delivery timing, and PO details - proactively identifying and communicating potential shortages or quality concerns
  • Communicate weekly with key vendor contacts to confirm order status, resolve discrepancies, and maintain supply continuity
  • Issue POs for raw materials, office supplies, and small tools
  • Verify PO pricing and terms against corporate-negotiated vendor contracts; flag discrepancies
  • Support teams with quotes and capex request documentation

Inventory Control
  • Set and maintain reorder points and safety stock levels using historical usage data
  • Monitor inventory levels against supply/demand needs; adjust as lead times shift
  • Flag aging, obsolete, or excess inventory

Vendor & Freight Performance
  • Track supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, order accuracy) and maintain scorecards
  • Feed performance data to Corporate Procurement for renewal/renegotiation decisions
  • Monitor outbound freight against corporate contracts; resolve day-to-day issues (delays, damage, claims)

Error Detection & Cross-Functional Support
  • Catch and flag invoice/PO/packing slip discrepancies before they reach Accounting
  • Identify when actual purchase costs deviate from standard cost and route to the appropriate owner (Continuous Improvement lead for root-cause explanation, Accounting for correction)
  • Maintain open communication with Manufacturing, Receiving, and Accounting on purchasing status

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 1+ years' experience in a manufacturing, printing, or packaging environment
  • High school diploma or GED; Supply Chain coursework/degree a plus
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas) for tracking and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail; able to spot discrepancies and know when to escalate
  • Ability to read and follow procedure manuals and safety documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating directly with external vendor contacts on a weekly basis regarding supply levels and order details
  • Able to represent StickerGiant professionally in vendor interactions while staying within corporate-negotiated contract terms

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 70 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift
  • Comfortable operating warehouse equipment (pallet jack/forklift, or willing to be trained/certified)
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, or working in tight spaces
  • Comfortable in a warehouse environment with variable temperature and noise
  • Repetitive motion tasks (lifting, scanning, sorting) throughout the day

Schedule
  • 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, on-site (remote or hybrid not available)
  • Monday to Friday with possible weekend shifts as needed

Why StickerGiant?
  • Core Benefits:
    • Health, dental, and vision offered at reduced rates.
