Patient Monitor Technician
Job Description
Purpose & Scope:
The Patient Monitor Technician (PMT) is responsible for continuous video monitoring for patient safety as an additional tool in the plan of care for patients at high risk for falls, confusion, impaired mobility, etc. The PMT is also responsible for monitoring the continuous oximetry system for patients as indicated.
He/she must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with coworkers, staff, and patients/family. He/she must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the monitoring process and effective, efficient use of the camera monitoring equipment and the continuous oximetry monitoring system. The PMT works under the supervision of the Patient Care Director and RN.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
One year of constant observation is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None.
