The Senior Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for managing cross-functional projects that support Atrium’s broader business objectives. This individual collaborates with project sponsors, business leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams to move initiatives from planning through implementation and post-launch stabilization, ensuring projects remain aligned with defined goals, timelines, and operational needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with sound business judgment, curiosity, and the ability to navigate evolving priorities. They communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and develop practical recommendations that support successful project delivery.

This individual is comfortable coordinating leadership updates, facilitating cross-functional working sessions, and rolling up their sleeves to move work forward. Success in this role requires organization, initiative, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Lead complex, multi-workstream initiatives from discovery through implementation and post-launch stabilization.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable project plans, balancing scope, priorities, timelines, and organizational readiness.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, governance structures, and communication plans.
  • Support timely decision-making by identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities early while presenting practical recommendations.
  • Continuously evaluate processes and recommend scalable improvements that support business growth.

Stakeholder & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as the central point of coordination for executive sponsors, business leaders, vendors, and clients throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate and facilitate executive meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional working sessions that drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external partners, influencing outcomes through trust, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Present project status, risks, recommendations, and business impacts to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple business areas to achieve project objectives without direct authority.

Delivery Excellence

  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities while maintaining high-quality execution.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate project governance, milestones, success metrics, and reporting.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure project documentation, risks, issues, and decisions are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaboration & Project Leadership

  • 6+ years leading complex cross-functional projects, preferably within staffing, contingent workforce, HR technology, payroll, or professional services.
