Job Title: Atlassian Project Manager – Jira Platform Lead

Location: New York, NY

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Jira Platform Lead to oversee enterprise Jira platform governance while driving Agile project delivery across the organization. This role will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of the Jira platform, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise project management standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with deep knowledge of Atlassian Jira administration and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise Jira platform governance, administration, and best practices.
  • Manage Jira configuration, workflows, permissions, custom fields, issue types, and project templates.
  • Establish and maintain Jira standards, governance policies, and platform documentation.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports, and executive-level project metrics.
  • Monitor project health, milestones, risks, resource utilization, and delivery performance.
  • Support Agile project planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Partner with business stakeholders, project managers, Scrum teams, and technical administrators.
  • Drive adoption of Agile methodologies and Jira best practices across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Jira processes, workflows, and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure platform scalability, security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience leading Agile projects and delivery teams.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira Administration.
  • Expertise in Jira workflows, permissions, custom fields, screens, issue types, and project configuration.
  • Experience creating enterprise dashboards, portfolio reporting, and KPI metrics.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience managing enterprise governance for Jira platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Atlassian Jira Administrator certification.
