Job Summary:
Provide overall management of assigned projects within the Technology and Automation business line, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects that meet or exceed client requirements. The Senior Project Manager combines strong technical expertise with sound project management acumen to lead projects through all phases of execution. As a servant leader and team player, this individual motivates high-performing teams, fosters collaboration, and adapts effectively to changing priorities while delivering results.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead multi-discipline teams as required to deliver supporting engineering and design services associated with technology and automation projects;
• Work with other managers or disciplines as applicable to develop schedules and plans for various elements of the project;
• Develop project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates and project related financial reports;
• Responsible for client satisfaction and safe delivery of work in accordance with budgets, schedules, and quality requirements;
• Visible leader with relentless focus on safety and culture to motivate team performance;
• Ensure that proper documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle;
• Track, report, and communicate project status effectively to the client and EDG stakeholders;
• Support business development initiatives and proposal efforts;
• Visibly champion EDG's 'Character by Design' and 'Unifying Principals'.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline required;
• Ten (10) or more years of relevant technical experience required;
• Ten (10) or more years of project engineering and project management experience in the relevant industry required;
• Strong understanding of the PMBOK guides and standards - PMP certification a plus;
• Demonstrated ability to perform as a seller and a doer of services;
• Ability to build trust and consensus within a client organization to drive client satisfaction and repeat business;
• Knowledge and relationships with key technology suppliers in the automation, digital twin, and asset performance management markets;
• Experience managing mid to large-scale main automation contractor projects;
• Strong knowledge of applicable industry standards;
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to interact and collaborate with peers across the organization;
• Requires the ability and availability to travel offsite as required.
Working Conditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private office) but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations;
• Field duties may require outdoor work in a plant or offshore platform atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels;
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
