POSITION SUMMARY

Aleut is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the 533d Training Squadron’s USSF Guardian Enlisted Training (GET) initiative at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. Work is slated to start on 1 January 2027 (contingent on contract award). In 2023, the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) initiated an effort to refine the roles for Space Force officer, enlisted, and civilian Guardians to better prepare the USSF for dominating in the space-domain. In this new construct, the enlisted Guardians serve as the technical specialists that execute orders while serving as leaders, weapon system experts, and advisors to their officer and civilian counterpart across satellite operations, cyberspace operations, and intelligence operations in the space-domain. The development, education and training of the enlisted force starts with the foundation built during Initial Skills Training. To achieve this level of technical depth across knowledge, skills and abilities, the USSF is transforming its initial skills training to meet the CSO’s vision. This evolution is called the GET initiative.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Mission and contract execution leadership: Ensures all contract requirements, performance objectives, cost controls, and schedule milestones are met while proactively managing risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations to deliver successful outcomes for the government customer.
  • Customer and team integration: Serves as the primary bridge between the government client, corporate leadership, subcontractors, and program staff, building trusted relationships, driving clear communication, and aligning all parties to achieve mission success and contract growth opportunities.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout project lifecycles.
  • Assist with new programs and the strategic growth of Aleut Federal.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • This is a non-instructor position.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Leadership, Management, Problem Solving, Planning.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
  • Ability to manage personnel and organizational structure to accomplish mission/tasks.
  • Ability to communicate objectives, expectations, and standards and effectively model desired corporate culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support cross-functional teams across DoD.
  • Exceptional communicator (written and verbal) capable of facilitating, briefing, speaking, and writing compelling papers/products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Active or current Top-Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility required.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Instructional Systems Design (ISD) experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Program Manager.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Space Operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work on-site, indoor office and classroom environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive keyboard tasks and associated motions for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds.

SALARY RANGE

  • $85,000 -- $275,000 (annual) depending on qualifications.
