Project Manager (Commodities)
Kokomo, IN
Are you an organized, customer-focused professional who enjoys collaborating with others and solving complex challenges?
At Kirby Risk, our Project Managers play a critical role in supporting contractor customers throughout the construction project lifecycle.
What You'll Do as a Project Manager (Commodities)
In this role, you'll serve as a trusted resource for customers, vendors, and internal teams by coordinating material procurement, tracking project requirements, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
You'll:
  • Manage quotes and order workflows within Solar Eclipse to support customer project needs
  • Support the execution of large conduit and wire projects by collaborating closely with Account Managers on quoting and project management activities
  • Negotiate pricing, quality, production schedules, and delivery timelines with vendor partners to support project success and profitability
  • Monitor project activity, open orders, and customer requirements to ensure projects stay on track and deadlines are met
  • Provide customers with submittals, manufacturer information, shipping requirements, and project updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams to drive successful project outcomes
  • Leverage product knowledge and market expertise to recommend value-added solutions and support customer objectives
  • Represent Kirby Risk with professionalism in every customer and vendor interaction

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • College level coursework and/or equivalent 4 + years relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of electrical products sales experience; thorough knowledge of electrical products and their applications
  • Knowledge of construction basics; accurately read product catalogs, price sheets, blueprints and specifications
  • Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal and customer contact skills
  • Computer aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong telephone etiquette, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities
  • Effectively set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Continuous learner
  • Credible, responsive team-player

What to Expect in This Role
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Primarily indoors, controlled temperature environment
  • Occasional travel
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
