Req ID: 380565

NTT DATA strives to hire exceptional, innovative and passionate individuals who want to grow with us. If you want to be part of an inclusive, adaptable, and forward-thinking organization, apply now.

We are currently seeking a PMO Manager (Lead) to join our team in Los Angeles, California (US-CA), United States (US).

Role Summary

We are seeking a PMO Manager / PMO Lead to support a large-scale, multi-partner, multi-vendor program by helping refine, maintain, and operate a disciplined, practical, and delivery-focused Program/Project Management Office. The PMO is already established, and this role will focus on strengthening its day-to-day effectiveness, maintaining consistency, supporting delivery teams, and aligning with the client's PMO through the appropriate counterparts.

The PMO Manager / PMO Lead will work under and alongside executive leadership and in close partnership with delivery teams to provide structure, visibility, coordination, and operational support. This role will support governance, reporting, executive visibility, change management coordination, cross-functional alignment, and delivery team enablement.

A primary focus of this role will be maintaining and improving the deliverables management process, including deliverable planning, drafting, review, quality control, submission, and acceptance tracking. This is a hands-on PMO leadership role focused on facilitation, coordination, coaching, process discipline, and delivery support rather than formal hard-line people management.

The role will also help refine the purpose, operating rhythm, and support model of the PMO as delivery team needs and client PMO alignment needs evolve over time.

Location: Los Angeles (onsite role)

Key Responsibilities

PMO Operations and Delivery Support

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of a light, established PMO, ensuring practical project management standards, tools, processes, and practices are consistently maintained.
  • Support executive leadership and delivery teams by providing operational structure and visibility into program priorities, progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery needs.
  • Refine and maintain PMO processes that support effective delivery across a complex multi-partner and multi-vendor environment.
  • Support project methodologies, governance routines, reporting processes, escalation paths, and decision-support activities.
  • Coordinate across schedules, deliverables, risks, issues, financials, and change management activities to help ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Manage special projects and process improvement efforts that strengthen PMO effectiveness and delivery team support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of own time and hours to the project.

Deliverables Management

  • Maintain, refine, and oversee the deliverables management process across the program.
  • Manage the deliverable lifecycle, including reviews, quality control, submission, acceptance tracking, and closure.
  • Ensure deliverables follow approved templates, quality standards, documentation requirements, and submission timelines.
  • Oversee documentation standards, version control, repository structure, and related PMO document management practices.
  • Track deliverable progress, identify barriers to completion, and coordinate with delivery teams to support timely resolution.
  • Provide visibility to executive leadership and delivery teams on deliverable status, risks, dependencies, and acceptance progress.

Governance, Reporting, and Client PMO Alignment

  • Support governance meeting preparation, including agenda development, materials coordination, action tracking, and decision follow-up.
  • Maintain consistent status reporting across the program, ensuring leadership has accurate, timely, and actionable information.
  • Align with the client's PMO through appropriate counterparts to support reporting consistency, governance coordination, action tracking, and issue visibility.
  • Support escalation processes by helping identify issues, clarify ownership, and track resolution.
  • Maintain and support the stakeholder registry and stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Maintain the meeting list and support communications management across the program.
  • Support client relationship coordination alongside the delivery team by helping ensure consistent communication, preparation, and follow-through.

Change Management and Program Controls

  • Provide oversight and coordination for the change management log and related change management processes.
  • Support alignment between change activity, delivery impacts, schedule considerations, financial implications, risks, issues, and deliverables.
  • Help ensure change-related information is organized, visible, and available to the appropriate leadership and delivery stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project managers, PMO team members, and delivery leads to maintain consistent tracking and reporting discipline.

Team Leadership, Coaching, and PMO Enablement

  • Provide day-to-day PMO leadership through coordination, coaching, facilitation, and support rather than formal hard-line people management.
  • Help train project managers and PMO staff on PMO processes, tools, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Support PMO staff alignment by helping clarify roles, responsibilities, coverage needs, and operating expectations.
  • Help ensure key staff roles and PMO staff roles are cross-trained and have appropriate backup coverage.
  • Support staff onboarding and offboarding processes and related tools, including the organization chart and contact list.
  • Lead regular evaluation of skills-to-role alignment and support staff engagement efforts within the PMO operating model.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of project management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience conducting reviews of documentation deliverables and recommending improvements based on industry-proven good practices and best practices.
  • 5+ years of experience working as part of a Program/Project Management Office.
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Resides in Los Angeles or is willing to relocate.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-partner or multi-vendor project environment.
  • Experience with telecom or other large infrastructure projects.
  • 5+ years of formal leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of experience establishing, leading, and growing a Program/Project Management Office and/or comparable industry practice.
  • Experience working in the state of California.

Success Profile / Ideal Candidate Attributes

The ideal candidate is a hands-on PMO lead who can maintain structure, clarity, and discipline in a complex delivery environment without creating unnecessary process burden. This person understands how to operate within a light PMO model that supports delivery execution, aligns with client PMO expectations, and provides leadership with practical visibility into progress, risks, issues, deliverables, and decisions.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working alongside executive leadership while remaining closely connected to delivery teams and day-to-day execution needs. They should be able to balance governance with practical support, improve visibility without overcomplicating delivery, lead through influence, coordinate effectively across counterparts, manage deliverables with rigor, and help the PMO continue to evolve as program and client needs change.
