Their work includes fixing leaks, unclogging drains, installing appliances like water heaters, and ensuring plumbing systems comply with safety codes. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a plumber, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Plumber, you need a solid understanding of plumbing systems, pipefitting, and safety protocols, typically supported by completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training and appropriate state licensing. Familiarity with tools such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and diagnostic equipment, as well as knowledge of local building codes, is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are valuable soft skills in this role.
