Job description

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician to join one of our long-term client's team at (3) of their properties in Rochester & Byron, MN. The ideal candidate will have 2 years' experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. This role is contracted and expected to last 30-120 days in length, but could become permanent for the right candidate.

This role will be working with (3) communities 100 affordable units and townhomes.

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8am - 430pm.

Salary: $26-$30/hour DOQ.

In this position, you will be responsible for refurbishing apartments prior to resident occupancy, providing maintenance services to include light electrical work, light plumbing, general repairs of equipment, painting, carpentry, and limited extermination services. You will need to provide and use your own basic tools.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
  • Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
  • Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
  • Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
  • Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
  • Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
  • Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Boiler's license preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver's license
