Job Summary:  

Position is primarily responsible for performing general building and equipment repair work. In addition, employee shall perform preventative maintenance on all stationary and movable equipment within the building, and outside.

The shift available is: Mon-Fri with flexible hours, this can include weekends and on-call hours. The regular hours are 12pm-8pm

The pay for this position is a rate of $27.00/hr

Job Duties

  • Performs/assists with repair of commercial food service equipment as needed.
  • Makes necessary repairs in residents’ apartments as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists in the repair of electrical equipment, plumbing and HVAC.
  • Assists in the repair of personal items for residents as skill level allows.
  • Performs upkeep and maintenance on all fire equipment and assists in fire drills.
  • Performs boiler maintenance as required.
  • Carries out security measures as established by the Administration for the protection of Goodwin Living property.
  • Responsible for removal of snow and ice.
  • Must alert Human Resources or the Department Director of any change in driving record, including but not limited to accidents and tickets for traffic violations.

Job Requirements

  • Must have 3 years experience in maintenance of food service equipment in a commercial kitchen including steam ovens, dishwashers, ice machines, grills, etc.

  • Must have 3 years experience in maintenance in the areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such an action.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, and visitors.

  • Must be generally familiar with gasoline and electrical motors, electrical wiring, heating equipment, plumbing and refrigeration equipment.

  • Must have some “handyman” knowledge of the requirements for repairing furniture, fixing pictures, repairing blinds, and similar projects.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
