Job description


The PLM Systems Engineer plays a critical role in Rheem's Digital Enterprise organization, overseeing the development and implementation of Aras PLM solutions and ensuring alignment with Rheem's engineering and manufacturing business requirements. This individual manages the product backlog and prioritizes features based on stakeholder input from engineering, quality assurance, and project management teams across Rheem's diverse product lines. They are responsible for defining the product vision, creating user stories, and coordinating with development teams to deliver PLM capabilities that support Rheem's product lifecycle-from design and engineering through manufacturing and service. A successful candidate will bring knowledge of product lifecycle management and agile methodologies, along with experience in software development and project management within a manufacturing or industrial products environment.
This position will serve Rheem North America, located in Atlanta, GA, Lewisville, TX, Roswell, GA, Indianapolis, IN, Fort Smith, AR, or Montgomery, AL (Hybrid). This role follows our hybrid work arrangement, with team members working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays. Relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the PLM Product Owner and business stakeholder to execute Roadmap for PLM and Engineering Systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to gather and validate requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Architect Aras Innovator PLM solutions include data model design, workflows, lifecycle management, permissions, business rules, upgrade strategies and system configuration.
  • Coordinate with development teams on sprint planning, delivery, and release management.
  • Ensure PLM solutions align with Rheem's product lifecycle processes, engineering change management, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Ensure enterprise integrations are designed, developed and executed across PLM, ERP, PIM, CAD, MES, and Quality systems using APIs, middleware, and data exchange frameworks.
  • Partner with Aras developers, solution architects, and integration teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and review technical approaches for new PLM capabilities, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Support development teams by clarifying requirements, validating technical designs, and removing functional roadblocks during sprint execution.
  • Collaborate with developers to define data models, business rules, workflows, lifecycles, forms, and security requirements within the Aras platform.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hand on experience in PLM Platforms - preferably in Aras Innovator.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management principles and agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
  • Experience with software development processes and competencies in programming languages like C#, .Net, Java script, and SQL.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity to design and develop integrations/ APIs to and from the PLM platform (Aras Innovator)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial products environments and engineering change processes.

HOW TO STAND OUT
  • Executed projects leveraging the Aras PLM platform.
  • Background in HVAC, water heating, or industrial manufacturing product development.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM integration, BOM management, or engineering change management in PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of ERP integration with PLM platforms.
