Job description

The Amazon Robotics (AR), Technology Enablement Services (TES) team, is seeking a PLM Systems Development Engineer focused on Data and Analytics for our Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management platform. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise PLM data, cloud data engineering, and business intelligence, building the data infrastructure that transforms raw PLM data into actionable insights for engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong data engineering background with hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines using AWS services and extracting data from complex enterprise applications.

You will work with cross-functional teams to build the analytics layer that provides visibility into product development performance, PLM system health, and data quality across the organization. This role requires an individual who is customer-centric, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable operating with an entrepreneurial mindset. You will collaborate with PLM engineers, product managers, hardware development engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs, build reliable pipelines, and deliver analytics that drive decision-making.
Key job responsibilities
Design and build data extraction pipelines from Siemens Teamcenter PLM to AWS data lake using services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and S3
Create and maintain analytics data models representing PLM product lifecycle metrics including BOM structures, change management workflows, and document management
Build dashboards and reporting for Teamcenter usage analytics, data quality monitoring, and product development cycle performance using Amazon QuickSight or equivalent tools
Support PLM system integration data flows with monitoring, alerting, and observability
Develop data validation and quality frameworks to ensure integrity of PLM data across enterprise system boundaries
Implement data federation capabilities between Teamcenter and other enterprise systems including ERP and CAD tools

Optimize data infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability within AWS environments
Apply relevant data engineering best practices including version control, testing, documentation, and CI/CD for data pipelines
Present data insights and technical information clearly to stakeholders and participate in knowledge sharing across the team
A day in the life
As a PLM Systems Development Engineer focused on Data and Analytics, you bridge data engineering expertise with PLM domain knowledge. Your day may start by reviewing pipeline health dashboards and triaging a data quality alert from an overnight Teamcenter extraction job. You then join a stand-up with the PLM engineering team to understand upcoming schema changes that affect your pipelines.

Throughout the day, you collaborate with PLM engineers, hardware development engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data and analytics solutions meet the needs of AR.
About the team
The Amazon Robotics (AR), Technology Enablement Services (TES) team , enables AR's people, purpose, and place to deliver the future. We remove barriers, drive organizational productivity, and foster growth. We serve AR leadership, product customers, and employees, and collaborate with teams throughout FTR

Creating a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace experience. Designing and iterating on learning, development, and engagement solutions to support needs of operators and employees. Synthesizing and articulating AR's long-term strategy, near-term goals, product roadmaps, and workforce strategy.
