POSITION SUMMARY

The control room operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling the production process in our food processing lines. This role ensures that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely by utilizing advanced control systems and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The operator will work closely with other team members to maintain optimal production levels and uphold quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Observe control panels, screens, and related equipment continuously to ensure all processes function correctly and efficiently.

• Complete CIP, COP, and Sanitizing of production lines and fillers.

• Operate and adjust controls on equipment to regulate and coordinate various production parameters, including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and ingredient mixing.

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve quickly operational issues or malfunctions in the production process to minimize downtime.

• Record operational data accurately, including production rates, quality metrics, and any incidents or anomalies.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety issues.

• Collaborate with quality team members to ensure products meet the required specifications and standards.

• Assist engineering team members with routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal working condition.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, engineering team members, and other functions regarding operational status, GMP readiness, different issues, and required actions.

• Additional specific duties and responsibilities may be assigned as operational needs evolve.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCES

• This position requires a High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating control rooms in a processing environment that involves the use of PLCs or similar system controllers.

• 1-2 years of experience operating processing and/or packaging equipment in a food plant under GMP conditions is a plus.

• Proficiency in using, troubleshooting, adjusting, and setting control systems, like SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller Systems), and other relevant software and applications.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly arrive at root cause and resolve operational issues.

• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy, monitoring, recording data, and maintaining quality standards.

• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Able to read and comprehend equipment manuals and electrical diagrams for set-up control loops is a plus.

B. LANGUAGE SKILLS

The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.

C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The individual must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
