About PLC Detailing

PLC Detailing LLC is a growing mobile detailing company serving clients throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. We specialize in premium mobile automotive detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, and specialty vehicle services. We are looking to add a reliable, hardworking automotive detailer to our team who can consistently work during weekday daytime hours. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants the opportunity to grow with a small but expanding company.

What You'll Do

As an Automotive Detailer, you'll travel to customers throughout the Pittsburgh area using PLC Detailing's company vehicles, equipment, and products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete interior and exterior vehicle details
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, steam cleaning, and interior deep cleaning
  • Cleaning and conditioning leather, plastics, carpets, and other interior surfaces
  • Washing, decontaminating, and protecting vehicle exteriors
  • Cleaning wheels, tires, glass, door jambs, and other detailed areas
  • Setting up and breaking down mobile detailing equipment
  • Maintaining clean and organized company vehicles and equipment
  • Inspecting completed vehicles to ensure they meet PLC quality standards
  • Communicating professionally with customers when working independently
  • Following PLC Detailing procedures and training standards
  • Assisting with higher-level services as experience and training progress

What We're Looking For

Reliability is our #1 priority.

You do not need to be an expert detailer when you start. We can teach detailing techniques and our processes to someone who is dependable, coachable, and willing to work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has consistent weekday daytime availability
  • Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Is comfortable driving company vehicles
  • Shows up on time and ready to work
  • Pays close attention to small details
  • Can work independently after training
  • Is comfortable working outdoors and performing physical work
  • Communicates professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Takes pride in producing high-quality work
  • Can follow established procedures without cutting corners
  • Is willing to learn and receive feedback

Previous automotive detailing, car wash, landscaping, construction, cleaning, automotive, or other hands-on work experience is a plus, but detailing experience is not required for the right candidate.

Schedule

We are specifically looking for someone with reliable weekday/daytime availability.

Hours will vary depending on customer bookings, weather, and seasonal demand. This position may begin part-time, with the opportunity for additional hours and responsibility as PLC Detailing continues to grow.

Applicants should clearly include their regular weekly availability when applying.

Compensation

  • Starting pay of $20/hour, depending on experience and ability
  • Customer tips
  • Opportunities for increased pay as skills and responsibilities increase- manager position available
  • Training in professional detailing techniques, products, and equipment
  • Opportunity to perform jobs independently
  • Potential for expanded hours and responsibilities as the company grows
  • Performance bonuses

Why Work With PLC?

This isn't a traditional car wash position. You'll work on a wide range of vehicles at customers' homes, businesses, and other locations throughout Pittsburgh while learning professional detailing techniques and operating commercial-grade equipment.

For someone who proves dependable and capable, there is significant room to take on more responsibility as the company grows.

We're looking for someone who wants to work hard, learn, and become an important part of the team.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation to designated starting locations
  • Consistent weekday daytime availability
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outside in varying temperatures
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical work for extended periods
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Dependable communication and attendance
