Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Hybrid QA Engineer (Manual and Automation Testing) in Tampa, FL.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer with a blend of strong manual testing expertise and automation development experience. This role will focus heavily on testing web-based applications, ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle, and building scalable automated test suites using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
Responsibilities:
Manual Testing:
* Execute comprehensive manual testing of web-based applications across multiple browsers and platforms
* Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data
* Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
* Validate UI/UX functionality, workflows, business rules, and application performance
* Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
* Collaborate with developers and business teams to reproduce and troubleshoot issues
* Participate in requirements reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality risks
Automation Testing:
* Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright
* Create automated regression and smoke testing suites to improve release quality and efficiency
* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
* Analyze test execution results and provide actionable feedback to development teams
* Continuously improve automation coverage, framework stability, and execution performance
* Support automated API testing and backend validation where applicable
Quality & Process Improvement:
* Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
* Advocate for quality best practices and test automation standards
* Assist in defining QA metrics and reporting on testing progress and quality trends
REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience
* Strong experience performing manual testing of web applications
* 3+ years of automation testing experience
Hands-on experience with:
* Java
* Selenium WebDriver
* Playwright
* Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks
* Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
* Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
* Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab
* Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or comparable testing frameworks
* Experience with SQL and database validation
* Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS
* Experience with performance testing tools is a plus
* Exposure to modern DevOps and Shift-Left testing practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
