Job description

Position Summary

The Corporate Development Associate is responsible for providing the Corporate Development team with timely, accurate and insightful business development analysis to monitor results and assist in key strategic decision making. This role will also have the opportunity to lead the origination of new business opportunities for the company. Working under the direction of the Vice President, Corporate Development, this role requires an ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining daily workload. This is an excellent opportunity to continue building out a foundation of business development across the oil and gas universe while building skills needed to be a future leader at an organization.

In This Role, You Will

  • Perform detailed financial and economic modeling for Corporate Development projects
  • Build complex models and other analytical tools to guide business decisions
  • Provide market intelligence and keep any deal flow that is impactful to our organization updated
  • Assist in any necessary due diligence associated with the acquisition of new assets
  • Create custom reports and generate standard reports for Corporate Development staff
  • Support senior management in the development of strategy, objectives, and action plans to meet BSM’s growth strategy
  • Work closely with other departments in proposal preparation and presentation
  • Manage multiple work streams efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • Analyze the techniques and successes of the competition
  • Lead an evaluation of potential targets for acquisition or disposition
  • Assist in any special projects that may arise from time to time
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field, preferred
  • Three (3) years of Oil & Gas operations or investments experience required. Experience in finance or a business development role, preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Excel and PowerPoint software
  • Ability to plan and organize workload, adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build relationships in a small team environment as well as with external parties
  • Bring a positive team player attitude that is dependable and committed to the objectives given.
