Job description

The Retail Marketing Manager plays a critical role in elevating L.A.B. Golfโ€™s presence and performance across physical retail environments. This position is responsible for developing and executing retail marketing strategies that drive sell-through, strengthen brand storytelling, and deliver premium in-store experiences across Big Box, off-course specialty, and green-grass channels. From shop-in-shop concepts and fixture programs to merchandising standards and retail activations, the Retail Marketing Manager ensures consistent, high-impact execution at key accounts. This role partners closely with Sales, Creative, Product, and external vendors to bring retail initiatives to life, while also managing MDF/BDF investments to maximize return and alignment with business priorities. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, strong project and budget management skills, and a deep understanding of the golf retail landscape.

Responsibilities and Duties

Retail Strategy and Account Support

  • Develop and manage LAB Golfโ€™s annual retail marketing calendar, aligned with product launches, sales priorities, and key account initiatives across Big Box, offcourse specialty, and greengrass channels.
  • Partner closely with Sales and key wholesale accounts to design and execute retail marketing programs that drive sellthrough and elevate instore brand presence.
  • Lead the development of shopinshop concepts, fixture strategies, and merchandising standards for national and regional retail partners.
  • Own the creation, distribution, and lifecycle management of retail marketing assets, including signage, pointofpurchase materials, display kits, fitting bay materials, and retail education tools.
  • MDF / BDF Planning and Management

  • Define, manage, and optimize MDF (Marketing Development Funds) and BDF (Brand Development Funds) strategies by account to maximize brand impact and ROI.
  • Plan and manage annual MDF/BDF budgets, including forecasting, tracking spend, and measuring performance against sales and brand objectives.
  • Partner with Sales on account proposals, funding approvals, and strategic investment recommendations to support retail growth.
  • Creative, Production and Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with internal creative teams and external agencies to develop instore graphics, displays, fixtures, and premium merchandising materials.
  • Manage endtoend project timelines, production schedules, and quality control for all retail executions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships for printing, fabrication, POP materials, fixtures, and installation partners to ensure consistency, quality, and ontime delivery.
  • Work crossfunctionally with digital and ecommerce teams to ensure retailerspecific assets (imagery, video, planograms, and product content) meet brand standards and retailer requirements.
  • In-Store Experience and Merchandising
  • Partner with retail accounts to elevate LAB Golfโ€™s physical retail presence through bestinclass merchandising, clear storytelling, and consistent brand presentation.
  • Develop, document, and maintain visual merchandising guidelines and retail execution standards across all channels.
  • Support retail staff training initiatives in partnership with Sales and Player Development teams, ensuring fitters and retail associates are equipped to confidently represent LAB Golfโ€™s products and technology.
  • Reporting and Performance Tracking
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of retail programs, including shopinshop installations, fixture adoption, merchandising compliance, sellthrough performance, and MDF/BDF ROI.
  • Analyze retail performance data and provide insights and recommendations to continuously improve LAB Golfโ€™s retail presence and conversion at the point of sale.
  • Social Media Support
  • Produce and tailor content for use across social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), ensuring optimal format, tone, and timing.
  • Assist with planning, shooting, and scheduling socialfirst content, with a focus on shortform video, product launches, and user engagement.
  • General Duties
  • Perform additional retail marketing and crossfunctional support duties as assigned to advance L.A.B. Golfโ€™s brand presence, retail execution, and overall marketing objectives.
  • Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

    Education
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in retail marketing, channel marketing, or wholesale account marketing, ideally within sporting goods, golf, or premium consumer brands.
  • Proven experience supporting Big Box, offcourse specialty, and greengrass retail accounts.
  • Demonstrated success managing MDF/BDF budgets, retail activations, shopinshop builds, and physical POP and display programs.
  • Experience leading crossfunctional initiatives involving Sales, Creative, Product, and external partners.
  • Handson experience managing vendors, production partners, timelines, and instore installations.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of retail merchandising principles, planograms, fixture programs, and instore execution standards.
