Full-Time Academy Goalkeeper Coach
The Full-Time Academy Goalkeeper Coach is responsible for the identification, development, and performance of goalkeepers within the FC Dallas Academy pathway. This role focuses on preparing goalkeepers to reach their highest potential, with the long-term objective of producing elite-level professionals capable of progressing to the first team and beyond.
The position integrates coaching, analysis, administration, and collaboration across Academy and professional levels, ensuring alignment with the club's playing philosophy and developmental model
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Player Development:
โ€ข Plan, deliver, and evaluate age-appropriate goalkeeper training sessions aligned with the club's methodology and playing philosophy.
โ€ข Prepare and coach goalkeepers for all training sessions and matches.
โ€ข Develop and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) tailored to each goalkeeper's needs.
โ€ข Ensure goalkeepers are tactically integrated within team systems in collaboration with Academy Head Coaches.
โ€ข Serve as a positive role model by promoting professionalism, sportsmanship, and club values.
Match Preparation & Performance:
โ€ข Prepare goalkeepers for matches through physical, technical, tactical, and psychological preparation.
โ€ข Conduct relevant opposition analysis.
โ€ข Provide post-match feedback, reports, and performance evaluations.
โ€ข Support team success while maintaining a strong focus on long-term player development.
Analysis & Scouting:
โ€ข Utilize video analysis and data tools to evaluate goalkeeper performance in training and matches.
โ€ข Maintain detailed performance records, tracking development and reporting as necessary.
โ€ข Identify and scout prospective Academy-level goalkeepers through internal and external pathways.
โ€ข Assist in trial processes and evaluation of potential recruits.
Collaboration & Integration:
โ€ข Work closely with the Academy Goalkeeping Director to ensure alignment across all age groups.
โ€ข Collaborate with first team and professional pathway staff to support player progression.
โ€ข Maintain strong communication with players, families, and staff regarding development and expectations.
โ€ข Participate in club-wide initiatives to ensure continuity across the development pathway.
Administration & Operations:
โ€ข Maintain accurate documentation including training plans, player evaluations, and match reports.
โ€ข Assist with scheduling, logistics, and organization of goalkeeper programming.
โ€ข Support equipment management and training setup.
โ€ข Attend staff meetings, coaching education sessions, and league-required events.
โ€ข Contribute ideas to improve goalkeeper department operations and processes.
Collaboration & Integration:
โ€ข Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and club representation.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all safeguarding policies, including SafeSport and league regulations.
โ€ข Promote player welfare and a positive developmental environment at all times.
โ€ข Ensure adherence to club code of conduct by all players.
Job Qualifications:
โ€ข Previous experience playing at the collegiate or professional level strongly preferred.
โ€ข Previous experience coaching at the academy, collegiate, or professional level preferred.
โ€ข U.S. Soccer "B" License (or equivalent) preferred.
โ€ข Strong understanding of goalkeeper development and modern playing styles.
โ€ข Prior experience in MLS Next, or similar level league preferred.
โ€ข A passion for soccer and developing youth players.
โ€ข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage players, staff, and families.
โ€ข Experience with video analysis and performance tracking tools.
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation tools.
โ€ข Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development.
โ€ข Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
โ€ข Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) or multi-lingual preferred.
โ€ข Energetic, driven, and collaborative mindset.
Work Environment & Requirements:
โ€ข Based in Frisco, Texas, with primary work at Toyota Stadium and Toyota Soccer Center training facility.
โ€ข Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
โ€ข Ability to travel for matches, tournaments, and scouting.
โ€ข Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
โ€ข Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
โ€ข Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
