Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring travel experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Details
  • >operating environment
  • Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
  • Call required per 6-week schedule, approximately 3 weeknight call shifts (5:00 PM-10:00 PM, Monday-Thursday) and 2-3 weekend 12-hour call shifts
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs with brief orientation provided
Requirements
  • Active NM or compact RN license required (pending NM license accepted if obtained prior to start)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Experience in specialties such as gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, plastics, podiatry, and oral surgery may be required depending on assignment needs
  • Experience with robotic surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mako) may be required depending on assignment needs
  • Skills in conscious sedation monitoring, cardiac monitoring, specimen handling, peripheral IV starts, and universal protocol procedures required
Additional Information
  • Perform scrub and circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, plastics, podiatry, oral surgery, and ENT
  • Utilize specialized equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris systems
  • Support emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
  • Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
