Description

The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a qualified, full-time, board certified or board eligible plastic surgeon fellowship trained, to join its faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The applicant should have a strong desire to develop an academic career in plastic surgery. The salary will be commensurate with experience and training. Summary of Duties:

  • Serve as a 1.0 clinical attending plastic and reconstructive surgeon at The Emory Clinic and other sites that may be deemed necessary by the Section Chief over time for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Clinical responsibilities will be dedicated to all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
  • Participate in Surgery's education programs and teach fellows, residents and students.
  • Participate in night and weekend call coverage.
  • Participate in the education of medical students, residents and fellows and other rotators through the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service.
  • Participate in committees, present cases in the Division's case conferences, manage patient workups and procedures according to department guidelines, and adopt any tools and/or technologies deemed part of the Division.
General Qualifications
  • A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
  • A controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate
  • The minimum qualifications for medical faculty are a doctoral degree from an accredited school, successful completion of an accredited residency program, and Board certification or eligibility, if applicable, in the area of specialization.
  • Completion of a Fellowship, either clinical or research, in an area related to the field of specialization is desirable.
  • Faculty rank will depend on training, experience and professional achievement.
  • Georgia medical licensure, D.E.A. registration, and malpractice insurance coverage must be obtainable.
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate legal status permitting him/her to work under applicable United States immigration laws.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
