Essential Job Duties: The Registered Nurse-CVOR performs initial assessment appropriate to the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation. Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Performs interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care. Demonstrates the ability to assist the physician with procedures in the operating room, including cardio-thoracic surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery. Able to set-up for cases and maintain sterility in the operating room per AORN guidelines.

Qualifications One (1) year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center Minimum two (2) years' experience circulating for cardio-thoracic/coronary artery bypass surgery Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program Registered Nurse with current California RN license Current BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association Current PALS (AHA) preferred CNOR preferred
