About Us:
The Pediatric Perioperative Department at Valley Children's is a robust division, incorporating many procedural areas and their associated support services. Periop supports every service line within a healthcare system providing care to patients within the Central Valley and its surrounding areas, collaborating with outlying facilities to accomplish the mission of the organization to provide the best care to our patients, always.

With 12 Operating Rooms, you will work closely with surgeons or proceduralists, anesthesiologists, and other specialty technicians in order to provide care to patients. You will work within a team to set up for procedures, ensure safety and quality during surgery, and meet the goals of providing the best care possible to our patient population in an exciting OR environment. Surgical services offered in the OR at Valley Children's include Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Ear, Nose, & Throat Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, General & GI Surgery, Urology, Robotic Assisted Surgery, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery, and Dental Surgery.

A few notable achievements for our Periop department include being part of the highly skilled care teams recognized as some of the best in the country and the receiving the Competency & Credentialing Institute's (CCI) award for a high percentage of certified perioperative nurses, advancing a culture of patient safety.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing proficient nursing care of complex patients and serving as a resource. Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

Qualifications:


Education

  • Program Accredited nursing program (required)
  • College Degree - 4 year Nursing (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Day Surgery and Surgery-Gen within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)


Work Experience

  • Experience to correlate with Clinical Advancement Program (required)


Skills and Abilities

  • Bilingual Skills Preferred.


Additional Salary Range Details

The salary range listed reflects the RN III ladder level. The final salary range will be based on the RN ladder level into which the selected candidate is hired, as determined by qualifications, experience, and internal placement criteria.
