Plastic Surgery Office information

What is a plastic surgery office?

A plastic surgery office is a medical facility where board-certified plastic surgeons and their staff provide consultations, perform minor procedures, and offer follow-up care related to cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. Services can range from surgical procedures like facelifts, rhinoplasty, and breast augmentation to nonsurgical treatments such as Botox and fillers. The office typically includes consultation rooms, treatment areas, and administrative support to ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout their experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a plastic surgery office, and why are they important?

To excel in a Plastic Surgery Office, you need a background in medical office administration or nursing, knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, and familiarity with patient intake processes. Proficiency with medical scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR), and billing systems is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, discretion, and attention to detail help in building patient trust and managing sensitive information. These skills ensure efficient office operations, regulatory compliance, and a positive patient experience in a specialized medical environment.

What are some common challenges faced by staff working in a plastic surgery office, and how can they be managed?

Staff in a plastic surgery office often encounter challenges such as managing patient expectations, handling sensitive conversations about appearance, and coordinating complex scheduling for surgical procedures. Effective communication and empathy are essential for addressing patient concerns and ensuring a positive experience. Team collaboration is crucial, as administrative staff, nurses, and surgeons must work closely to maintain patient safety and confidentiality while providing high-quality care. Ongoing training and clear protocols help staff navigate these challenges and contribute to a supportive work environment.

Job description

About Us
Lind Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is a high-end private practice serving Spring, The Woodlands, and the greater Houston area. Our practice is built around precision, elevated patient care, refined luxury, and thoughtful attention to detail. Our facility and patient experience are designed to feel elegant, polished, and supportive from consultation through recovery.

We are looking for a nurse who is not only clinically capable, but who can naturally represent a refined aesthetic brand in both presence and patient interaction. This is a patient-facing role in an elective private-pay environment, so professionalism, presentation, discretion, and emotional intelligence matter.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Plastic Surgery Clinical Nurse to support pre-op and post-op care, surgical day flow, and recovery support. This role is ideal for an RN who is calm under pressure, highly organized, polished in presentation, and strong in patient communication.

The right candidate will help guide patients through the surgical journey with warmth, confidence, and attention to detail. This role is primarily focused on clinical support before and after surgery, with the possibility of limited aesthetic treatment support in the future based on practice needs and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pre-op patient readiness, chart preparation, and clinical coordination
  • Review labs, clearances, consents, prescriptions, and required documentation
  • Communicate with patients before surgery to ensure they are informed and prepared
  • Provide post-op follow-up, recovery support, and patient education
  • Assist with surgical day flow and PACU or recovery support within scope
  • Monitor patient status and communicate appropriately with the Medical Director and clinical team
  • Maintain timely, accurate charting and documentation
  • Assist with in-office procedures and other clinical tasks as needed
  • Help create a patient experience that feels calm, polished, attentive, and high touch

What We’re Looking For

  • Active Texas RN license in good standing
  • Experience in plastic surgery, PACU, pre-op, post-op, aesthetics, med spa, dermatology, or another elective private-pay setting preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
  • Professional, polished, and confident patient-facing presence
  • Strong personal presentation and attention to detail
  • Warm, poised, and emotionally intelligent communication style
  • Able to stay composed and efficient in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
  • Understands how to represent a luxury brand with professionalism and discretion
  • Team-oriented, accountable, and service-minded

This Role Is a Fit for Someone Who

  • Takes pride in how they present themselves professionally
  • Makes patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident
  • Understands that details matter in a high-end aesthetic practice
  • Can balance warmth with professionalism
  • Is comfortable working in an image-conscious, patient-centered environment
  • Wants to be part of a practice known for precision, aesthetics, and exceptional care

Reporting Structure
Reports to the Director of Operations for administrative and operational matters and the Medical Director and/or Charge Nurse for clinical matters.
