Job description

Mold Shop / Tooling Manager

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000+ Bonus
Schedule: 1st Shift (6:30/7:00 to 3:30/4:00) 

Growing plastics injection molding manufacturer seeking a Mold Shop / Tooling Manager to lead mold maintenance, repair, tooling performance, and a team of skilled moldmakers and technicians.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands injection molds, tooling, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and employee development.

Responsibilities:
• Lead daily mold shop operations and supervise tooling personnel
• Oversee mold repair, preventative maintenance, refurbishment, and troubleshooting activities
• Improve tooling reliability, cavitation performance, and equipment utilization
• Coordinate engineering changes, PM schedules, outside vendors, and new tooling activities
• Support production by identifying and resolving mold-related issues
• Track tooling costs, downtime, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to improve performance and product quality
• Train, mentor, and develop employees while managing schedules and work assignments

Qualifications:
• 5-15 years of plastics injection molding experience
• Background in moldmaking, toolmaking, tooling maintenance, mold repair, or related disciplines
• Leadership experience directing employees in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of injection molds, tooling systems, and preventative maintenance programs
• Experience troubleshooting production and tooling-related issues
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing systems

Preferred:
• Experience with MATTEC, RJG, IQMS, Epicor, MES, FactoryTalk, Ignition, or similar systems
• Experience within packaging, consumer products, medical, or other high-volume plastics environments
