Job description

The Machine Operator of our Ultrapak department is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic processing machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. This role requires preferable experience in operating a variety of packaging machines, including Stand Up Pouch, Longitudinal machine, Flat bottom machine, Box pouch, three side seal, Half fold fusion, and center press seal machines.

DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant.
  • Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition.
  • Leading by example in influencing safe behavior and contributing to establishing an effective safety culture.
  • Set up and operate plastic processing machinery such as injection molding machines, extruders, or blow molding machines according to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform job roll changes / clear Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant.
  • Perform job roll changes / clear machine jams / adjust machine settings as required to ensure acceptable quality pouch.
  • Operate a complex bag machine, troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to the machine.
  • Clear machine jams and report to the process lead
  • Supply the necessary raw materials to the machine.
  • Scan and label finished product boxes.
  • Identify and remove defects found in production.
  • Properly use the Auto count, blue line and fast field software.
  • Keep track of the work in process in every shift change
  • Follow the inspection, production and operational procedures according to the work instructions.
  • Fill out production and inspection reports with accuracy and attention.
  • Work with a good understanding of the compliance of the key performance indicators.
  • Conduct quality checks and identify products that fail to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain the assigned area clean and organized.
  • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Follow housekeeping standards and 5’s methodology.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
  • Train new associates.
  • Die and zipper spools, case labels, etc.
  • Operate complex bag machine, troubleshoot and make minor adjustments.
  • Supply the necessary raw materials to the machine.
  • Scan and label finished product boxes.
  • Identify and remove defects found in production.
  • Properly use the auto count, blue line and fast field software.
  • Keep track of the work in process in every shift change
  • Follow the inspection, production and operational procedures according to the work instructions.
  • Fill out production and inspection reports with accuracy and attention.
  • Work with a good understanding of the compliance of the key performance indicators.
  • Conduct quality checks and identify products that fail to meet quality standards and customer specifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures, and chemicals.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
