Job description

Recycling and Forklift Operator

IGLogistix, a division of Imprimis Group, is hiring skilled recycling and forklift operators to support a recycling and material recovery operation near DFW Airport. This position works inside a recycling distribution facility and is responsible for inspecting, sorting, processing, baling, and moving recyclable materials. The ideal candidate has sit-down electric forklift experience and is comfortable working around balers, pallets, recycling equipment, and warehouse operations.

Position details:

  • Pay: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour

Anticipated shifts:

  • 6:00 AMโ€“2:00 PM
  • 2:00 PMโ€“10:00 PM
  • Full-time schedule.
  • Seven-day operation, 5-day work week.
  • Most schedules are expected to fall Monday through Friday.
  • Weekend and holiday availability may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a sit-down electric forklift.
  • Receive and move recyclable materials throughout the facility.
  • Inspect recycling loads and remove contamination or incorrectly sorted material.
  • Sort recyclable materials into designated categories.
  • Load recyclable materials into balers and other processing equipment.
  • Remove completed bales from equipment.
  • Stage and load completed bales for transportation.
  • Move pallets, containers, bags, and recycling materials within the warehouse.
  • Process materials that may include aluminum and metal cans, hard plastics and plastic bottles, soft plastics and stretch wrap, paper products, cardboard, pallets.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow lockout/tagout, equipment, warehouse, airport, and site safety procedures.
  • Report damaged equipment, contamination, spills, and safety concerns.
  • Complete production, inventory, inspection, and material tracking documentation.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Previous sit-down electric forklift experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe forklift operation.
  • Previous warehouse, recycling, manufacturing, distribution, or material handling experience.
  • Ability to work around balers and industrial recycling equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish and properly separate different recycling streams.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions.
  • Ability to pass all required employment background screenings.
  • Ability to complete TSA and DFW Airport badging requirements when applicable.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays when scheduled.
  • Reliable transportation to the assigned work location.
  • Strong attendance and dependability.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Current forklift certification.
  • Previous baler operation experience.
  • Experience working in a recycling, waste management, warehouse, or material recovery facility.
  • Experience preparing and staging palletized or baled materials for shipment.
  • Familiarity with contamination control and recycling quality standards.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required by the operation.
  • Ability to work around noise, dust, odors, machinery, and changing temperatures.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment.
