Job description

Acclaim Health (Acclaim) is a multi-specialty medical group practice comprised of over 500 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who partner with JPS Health Network (JPS). Acclaim supports JPS's mission of transforming healthcare delivery for the communities we serve. From primary care to pediatrics to a full range of specialties, Acclaim's goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate care for every patient, every time. 
JPS Health Network has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years, covering a population of 3.5+ million. As the county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation. 
Job Summary: 
The Plastic Surgeon provides comprehensive reconstructive and plastic surgical care for patients requiring diagnosis, treatment, and surgical intervention for traumatic injuries, complex wounds, burns, and congenital or acquired deformities. This position involves evaluation and management of trauma patients, performance of complex reconstructive procedures utilizing microsurgical techniques, participation in teaching and research activities, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Is comfortable working in a large public/county facility and Level-1 Trauma Center environment. 
Can demonstrate working knowledge in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and competency in surgical techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes for traumatic injuries, complex wounds, burns, and reconstructive needs. 
Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills. 
Is self-directed and takes the initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach. 
Performs reconstructive procedures including skin grafts, free flaps, and other reconstructive techniques to restore function and appearance. 
Manages complex traumatic injuries including facial trauma, hand injuries, stab wounds, burns, and traumatic avulsions. 
Utilizes microsurgical techniques for delicate repairs, such as reconnecting blood vessels and nerves. 
Addresses complicated wounds and surgical complications, often requiring specialized care. 
Collaborates with multidisciplinary trauma teams including emergency medicine, trauma surgery, critical care, and other specialties in overseeing and coordinating the care delivered to all patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings to optimize quality patient care. 
Participates in trauma activation as needed. 
Conducts pre-operative consultations and post-operative follow-up care. 
Documents patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record. 
Reviews patient medical charts to assist with diagnosis, treatment and care management. 
Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary. 
Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Health. 
Provides care education to patients and families. 
Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. 
Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff. 
Works collaboratively with 2 experienced NP/PA's to assist in the clinic and OR. 
Supports academic, educational and research endeavors. 
Maintains availability for on-call shifts as agreed upon. 
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
