Shift Supervisor - Plastic Injection Molding Manufacturing - Base Salary to 35.00/hour - Gardner, MA

  • Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee production operations within a plastic injection molding environment at their Gardner, MA facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising production personnel, maintaining machine performance, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met during a 3rd shift schedule (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across injection molding machines and production cells
  • Assign machines and tasks to Packers and Cell Leaders based on production schedules
  • Operate and adjust injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to maintain optimal output and quality
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform minor mechanical repairs in coordination with maintenance and tooling teams
  • Communicate schedule changes (materials, colors, production priorities) to floor personnel
  • Monitor production performance and maintain accurate shift logs and reporting
  • Enforce safety protocols and quality standards across all operations
  • Manage employee attendance, approve time-off requests, and address performance concerns in partnership with HR
  • Collaborate with production planning, maintenance, and other departments to meet output and staffing goals

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic injection molding or similar production setting
  • Experience leading or supervising production personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding machines, including basic processing and troubleshooting
  • Mechanical aptitude, including ability to read schematics and work with production equipment
  • Experience making machine adjustments to maintain production efficiency and product quality
  • Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems and basic computer tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word)

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 30.00 - 35.00/hour range
