Job description

The Plasma Table Operator plays a critical role in the cutting and drilling of raw materials to prepare components for welding and fabrication. This position requires strong technical skills to operate equipment such as bandsaws, drill presses, and plasma tables, ensuring precision and adherence to production schedules. Working within a small team environment, the operator supports shop organization and cleanliness while maintaining safety and quality standards under the guidance of the Operations Manager during day shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cutting machinery including bandsaws, drill presses, and plasma tables
  • Perform precise measuring and cutting of raw materials for fabrication
  • Maintain shop organization and cleanliness
  • Follow safety procedures and quality control measures
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines
  • Communicate effectively within a small team (1-5 members) and report to the Operations Manager
  • Utilize computers and software regularly as part of daily operations
  • *This is not a welding position, although welding capabilities are a plus

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years of relevant welding and fabricating experience (MIG & TIG)
  • Strong technical skills in machine operation
  • Plasma table experience
  • Ability to understand and follow company policies, training, and safety procedures
  • Forklift experience/certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Quality control knowledge
  • Familiarity with safety procedures
  • Effective communication skills
