The Material Processing Manufacturing Engineering Department centers on development and production support assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave and mmWave products, with a very heavy emphasis on cutting-edge automation and materials.  You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis. Evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

What You Will Do:

  • Support current low-volume high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems. Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well-controlled processes using data-driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation. 
  • Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next-generation product designs.
  • Ensure processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, IPC, etc.) 
  • Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more
  • Capital equipment down-selection and integration to meet current and future business needs
  • Effective cross-functional communication of technical information

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience in plasma etch processes and equipment
  • Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics and automated assembly equipment
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and IPC standards familiarity
  • Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.
  • Experience with a multi-disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues and investigation thereof.
  • Experience of material properties or automated equipment
  • Experience with Office 365 programs.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
