Job Summary

The DSI Technician assists with the safe and efficient operation of the station's dry sorbent injection systems at a fossil fuel power plant. This is an entry level developmental position which receives technical guidance, training and assignments from higher level technicians and supervisors.This role will pay $33.98 per hour.

Job Description

Overview:

The DSI Technician assists with the safe and efficient operation of the station's dry sorbent injection systems at a fossil fuel power plant. This is an entry level developmental position which receives technical guidance, training and assignments from higher level technicians and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Move and switch railcars for unloading facility
  • Operation of Trackmobile
  • Unloading of railcars
  • Maintenance and upkeep of entire DSI system
  • Preventive Maintenance of all equipment
  • Use of overhead crane
  • Unloading of trucks and other deliveries
  • Assisting other departments as needed
  • General housekeeping (hosing, sweeping, and shoveling)
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out Operations along with operating 480 volt breakers
  • Use of forklift and scissor lift

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred- Associate's Degree related to power plants or other relevant industry, technical degree, or relevant military experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred-Possess an understanding of complex mechanical, electrical and thermal processes.
  • Preferred-The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instruments manuals.
  • The ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions while exposed to heat, cold, operating machinery, energized wires, loud noise, dust, grease, oil and fumes.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and all levels of management in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to frequently climb stairs; climb ladders to and work from elevated platforms and walkways at elevations of 75 feet or more.
  • All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
