Job description

Principal Accountability / Essential Functions (Updated)

  • Operates and monitors the Processing Plant through PLC systems and direct visual inspection, including the feed system, filters, dryers, high tension separators, magnetic separators, spirals, and all associated pumping and conveying equipment.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducts routine inspections of all plant equipment and troubleshoots any operational issues identified.
  • Observes all government and company safety rules and follows safe working procedures at all times; actively promotes a culture of safety.
  • Monitors plant operations utilizing PLC systems and in-plant evaluations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Records operational data using spreadsheets, log sheets, checklists, and other documentation tools.
  • Performs routine and breakdown maintenance as appropriate and assists maintenance personnel as required.
  • Utilizes various hand tools, instruments, and gauges in the performance of duties.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks, including shoveling and sweeping, to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operates motor vehicles; valid driver's license required.
  • Operates mobile equipment, including front-end loader, forklift, and skid steer loader.
  • Collects time-weighted samples and samples for assay.
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations related to plant operations.
  • Assists in training other employees as needed.
  • Reviews applicable work instructions periodically and recommends improvements to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Performs additional duties to support site operations as directed by departmental or area supervision.

Work Schedule

  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including both day and night schedules, based on assigned shift rotations.
