Job description

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,500 employees. We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER position in Lacey's Spring, AL. This position reports to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have the responsibilities and qualifications summarized below:

  • Supervising employees at a 1+ million TPY surface limestone quarry operation.ย 
  • Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures.ย 
  • Assisting with planning and scheduling work to meet production needs.ย 
  • Tracking, planning, and implementing fixed plant and mobile equipment preventative maintenance services.ย 
  • Documenting and tracking downtime in the fixed plant and mobile equipment as well as bringing innovative new ideas that will increase throughput and plant availability. ย 
  • Assuring adherence to operating standards as they affect equipment, production schedules, quality, labor, and material.ย 
  • Collaborating with sales to understand product demands and production requirements.

Requirements:

  • 5+ yrs of experience in a quarry.ย 
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role.ย 
  • Experience developing and following a long-term mine plan.
  • Experience supporting P&L management, budgeting, and cost analysis are strongly preferred.ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, related discipline, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating, and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production, and safety excellence.ย 
  • Continuous improvement mindset to improve availability and increase efficiencies in the plant.
  • Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards.ย 
  • Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
