Job description

Position Summary

There is a current need for a CNC Machinist to work 2nd shift at the Parker Hannifin location in Huntsville, Alabama.  The job requires the set-up and operation of CNC machines to perform precision metal cutting.
This position is full-time with a 2.00/hour shift premium and quarterly profit sharing.  Parker offers excellent medical, dental and vision insurance plans as well as Company paid life insurance, and short-term/long-term disability insurance.  In addition, Parker has a very competitive 401(k) plan that matches 100% of the first 5% of employee contributions with immediate Company vesting.  Team members also have vacation and sick pay, plus 13 paid holidays.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set-up and operate CNC machines  
  • Understand CNC programs
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Use precision measuring instruments
  • Apply machine shop mathematics
  • Utilize lean principles
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Participate in work groups High Performance Teams for continuous improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Work Conditions:

Standing for 8-10 hours per day; frequent reaching, grasping and lifting up to 25 lbs.; occasional walking; working in and around oil and solvent.

Note: 

HS diploma required.

Some previous education and/or experience operating CNC machines is strongly preferred.
