They may conduct laboratory experiments, field studies, and collaborate with breeders to develop resistant plant varieties.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Plant Virology position, and why are they important?

To thrive in plant virology, you need a solid background in plant biology, molecular biology, and virology, often supported by a relevant degree (such as plant pathology or microbiology). Familiarity with laboratory techniques (PCR, ELISA, sequencing), data analysis software, and sometimes certifications in biosafety or laboratory management are valuable.
