Job description

About Us

At Plant People, we’re building one of the fastest-growing modern wellness brands in the country. The company was founded after two friends turned to the healing potential of functional mushrooms and herbs during their recovery from traumatic spinal surgeries. What began as a personal journey back to health became a mission to help more people experience the power of plants in everyday life.

Today, we create delicious, clean, and effective gummies designed to help people sleep deeper, focus better, feel calmer, and live well. We’re proud to be B Corp and Climate Neutral Certified, and our products are carried by leading retailers including Whole Foods Market, Target, Erewhon, REI, Sprouts, JetBlue, and other forward-thinking partners nationwide.

Who We Are

Plant People is scaling fast and serious.

  • We're hands-on and all-in – Everyone here builds. We take ownership, move fast, and stay scrappy. Whether it's launching a new SKU or jumping in on a last-minute shoot, we show up ready to solve, not sit back.
  • We lead with story, backed by data – We're obsessed with how things look, feel, and resonate—but we also love performance metrics, A/B tests, and sharp pivots. Creative and analytical thinking live side by side here.
  • We care deeply – About wellness. About the planet. About our customers. We're here because we believe there's a better way to help people feel good, and we want to build it together.
  • We give a damn – About the details, the deadlines, the tone of a subject line, the flavor of a gummy. We sweat the small stuff because that's what earns trust and builds brand love.
  • We communicate clearly – We believe feedback is fuel. We speak with intention, listen with curiosity, and work collaboratively—even when we disagree.
  • We stay curious – We pay attention to what's happening in culture, in science, in our community. We're always learning—and never afraid to change our minds.

Overview

The Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring Plant People’s products move seamlessly from production to our customers across retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. This is a highly cross-functional role at the center of the business, partnering with teams across Customer Experience, Marketing, Product and Sales to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of ownership and a bias toward action.

Responsibilities

* Support the Operations team in creating, processing and tracking orders across wholesale, retail and DTC channels, including proactive follow-up on order status

* Own inventory tracking and reporting across systems and partners, ensuring accuracy and visibility at all times

* Partner with 3PL to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time across all channels

* Manage inbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate receipt into inventory systems

* Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Experience, Marketing, Product Development and Wholesale on day-to-day operations and key projects

* Proactively identify and escalate risks that could impact fulfillment, including inventory gaps, delays or quality issues

* Communicate backorders and inventory constraints clearly to Customer Experience and Marketing teams

* Provide inventory reporting and surface actionable insights and trends to internal teams

* Support coordination with manufacturing partners (co-packers) and distribution partners such as KeHE and UNFI

Requirements

* 2+ years of experience in omnichannel fulfillment or operations

* Familiarity with 3PL management and tools such as Shopify, ShipHero, SPS and ShipStation is a plus

* Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage varying retailer and partner requirements

* Strong sense of ownership, urgency and follow-through — a proactive self-starter who executes with intention

* Exceptional organization skills with a focus on accuracy and process consistency

* Known for being responsive, reliable and positive under pressure

* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment with shifting priorities

* Strong team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

* Passion for helping plants, people and the planet
